The EEC "Variable Pore Structure Micro Filter" VPMF technology is based on MBBR and Micro Filters. In addition to MBBR, EEC introduces Micro Filtration that offers filtration down to 10 or 5 ppm BOD. VARIABLE PORE STRUCTURE		MBBR - MBR - MEMBRANES (MBR)
Though there are many filtration system to have various structures, material, operating methods , we can classify mainly fixed pore structure and variable pore structure. As example of fixed pore structure, mesh strainer (auto strainer), disposable cartridge filter, membrane filter may be such, which don’t vary pore structure in filtration and backwashing. Therefore there are many problems in them, like plugging phenomena (to be plugged by particle), gel fouling in the surface of filter ,so they show poor backwashing effect or recovery of filter. PRINCIPAL OPERATION OF VPMF. VPMF (Variable Pore Structure Micro Filter) has principal like that micro fiber bundle is compressed by inlet flow pressure and become temporary filter layer. After capturing SS (Suspended Solid) particles for suitable term, this temporary filter layer is disassembled by backwash water to be fed in reverse direction for the filtration. That is, VPMF execute depth filtration to be accomplished by folding of micro fiber and is backwashed in the state of disassembled filter layer by flow of backwash water.

Structure of VPMF Flexible micro fiber is attached to two circular plastic holder. One holder can move up and down inner housing freely, another holder is fixed in down frame. First one is called “moving filter holder”, second one is called “fixed filter holder” . Filter element is assembled to the down frame with porous strainer in the centre of fixed filter holder.
